I tried to upload our song to soundclick as a band/artist and there was all sorts of warnings about copyright and licensing. So how does that affect our radio shows then? |

dude, technically loads of our output is teh "illegal" but no one's going to bother fucking us over
if some idiot record label or whatever comes knocking, it's "o noez!!!! we is sorry! we will takes it down!!!" *tugs forelock* problem solved
but podcasting is full of *technically illegal* stuff, but it is more than tolerated so long as you don't take the piss and offer stuff in a form that means people can swipe music THE MAN thinks you should be paying for... so shows with talky bits at the beginning and/or end of tracks, lower bitrates, mix shows etc - all of that plays in the favour of the podcaster, who, after all, is providing free publicity to attention-hungry musicians and that.
the megacorp lawyers are too busy shooting p2p fish in barrels (and demanding huge ramped up fees off 'proper' - ie licensed - internet radio stations) to get too vexed by low-level podcasters like us |

Fankoo krrzzzle
I suppose I was more thinking about podcasting single cover songs like that one. Or doing shizzle as a 'band' - which is where I guess that soundclick issue came up.
Yeah, we is too tiny to worry about, larger fish out there |

i honestly wouldn't worry, you're not
(a) offering someone else's work in a format comparable to that which they're offering
or
(b) charging any fees or demanding 'contributions' ( )
the likes of soundclick have to put in disclaimers like that to cover themselves. |

soundclick don't give a fuck about covers and stuff either
they do if you are selling stuff on there, but they are way too big to have a legal team check all their songs since they get 100s a day upploaded
when my computer is ficed im gonna make a kid bootleg alter ego, i just realised im really good at soundclash shizzle and i should take it seriously |
