If so;
at best: in a league you can't cope with, despite not being the best equipped for it, and a desperate season still a league beneath us. Only this time you can't even aspire to reach our league.
at worst; playoff heartbreak (it's not that bad if you don't finish 3rd (or 4th in your poxy division) and another season down there, hoping you don't drop into non-league territory. Again.
Oh, you get to play at Wembley. I so wish we were you! I got to go to Wembley last month to see a kid I teach play there. Make sure you enjoy it - you've nothing else to celebrate except for sightseeing! |

About to play the redsox, 10.5 games behind. Farthest they've trailed wince about 1997.
But like the jammy fuckers that are the gas, they'll make the playoffs... (ie post season). |

mets won the series
i'm not sure about the yankees making the playoffs this season. i watched the friday and saturday games and the yankees seemed bad in all positions. who was the guy who made THREE errors in the same game? the defence was bad, the offence even worse and the pitching did not impress. you'll be lucky to make the post-season but you have some serious problems to sort out. |

Cano is your guy. Second season - came second in the batting title in his rookie year. I'll take him ta.
Pitching, well last night our 7th rookie pitcher of the year won his debut - shows the difficulties we've had. The rocket will help a bit when he starts next week, and to be honest Moose/ Wang/ Pettitte/ Rocket and one of Hughes (see his near perfect game)/ Igawa etc will be a good rotation - and don't ignore that we've produced the 2nd most hits and the 2nd most runs in the MLB even so far (both behind the RedSox).
I think the Yanks will not win the div this year, but will be 4 or 5 clear in the play-offs - there's well over 100 games to go and we'll win 2/3rs minimum with a healthy rotation. Also, Rivera hasn't started throwing (though weirdly, our middle relief has been ok).
I'd give it an 80-85% chance of us being in the post season. |

Worst thing is, last night was the game we had no chance in, and we walked it.
Hitting seems to hit at the wrong time. etc |

i think i read/heard somewhere that clemens was only going to be a 4, possibly 5, innings type of guy so you need some persistent closers.
there's not much to add really, the team will be alright as soon as they sort out the pitching. the red sox seem surprisingly good but the only contender for the wild card is either detroit/cleveland depending on who wins the al central. |

| i didn't watch last nights game but was really surprised actually. maine is, in my eyes, our most consistent pitcher and couldn't see him losing to a rookie from the minor leagues. i know glavine is supposed to be one the best pitchers in the league but he is never any good until june and it really bothers me that he constantly gives up a run or at least a couple of hits in the first inning. you can never relax when he's on. |

They renewed mine automatically as well, though I didn't mind as I was intending to get it. I haven't used it that much so far though - didn't even watch last night. |

I got it last year to help with the night shifts. I paid for both years anyway in betting returns on the baseball though. |

yeah i do the same. i bet a bit of money on the games the nights i stay up to watch.
it's not as easy to win on as football and the odds are shite but it's not that difficult to win on about 2/3 the games you bet on.
the proceeds go to pay my mlb.tv subscription
am £50 up so far this season |
