Mine was a 15lb Ghost Carp I hooked on 4lb line. Took me over an hour to bring it in but every minute was well worth it.

I hooked a huge Ling a few years ago off the Whitby coast but it spat the hook out as the skipper was trying to gaff it... it must have been easily over 20lb.

Who's got bigger?

the only fish i ever caught was a really cool tropical one on the barrier reef, i didnt want to kill it coz it was pretty so i tried to unhook it to put it back in the water, resulting in a bloody finger and a scar that lasts to this day. after unhooking it i threw it overboard where a birdy swooped down and caught it

I gotta a pic somewhere but my scanner isn't working. It wasn't a big marlin, prolly a baby one, but it took a few hands to help get it on board

I caught a fish that was 4 miles long once and had televisions for eyes. I caught it trying to steal a hat from a hedgehog with a gammy leg...

I caught an eel once. By mistake. I was scooping water up from the stream behind my house with a saucepan, and I ended up with an eel. Eels are freaky. It makes me shiver now just thinking about it.

eels are nasty little fuckers. I've caught a fair few before and they're a bitch to unhook.

I'm not sure being hard to remove from barbed hooks you've tricked into their mouths is evidence for damning the whole species as "nasty little fuckers" - A lot of eels volunteer to help with community projects like path building and removing flytipped rubbish you know...

Perhaps, but they're annoying to grap hold of and scare off other fish in the swim.

I've never used barbed hooks btw

Caught a dogfish once that was quite big. And about 10 mackerel at the same time, that was quite impressive. I thought.
