you could see the sacking and his replacement. not sure if I'd be happy about this, were I a magpie - big sam's forte is getting fundamentally moderate, maverick or past-it players to play well above themselves.
Owen, dyer, carr, martins, duff and milner are worlds above that

we'll see, at bolton he got the best out of a club with not a lot of money by putting the emphasis on teamwork, newcastle is a club with more money for players, but fuck all team spirit

i wasn't that keen, but he might be just what we need

He was ace at Blackpool - might take a season but he'll sort Newcastle out. I think Jezza is wrong to say he is limited to that, his last job limited him to that, but he's never had a chance to work with better younger players.

I don't understand it when people have the kind of 'he's never managed big players' mentality cos you'd just end up with 20 steve Maclaren's if you think like that.

Looks like Alan Smith is joining Newcastle. He was mint with Viduka for Leeds years back.
