i probably needed to be clearer - i want a spam filter that works with mail clients. the mail client i use is applemail.
most of my accounts are yahoo run through applemail.

I reroute all my email through gmail to clear it of spam, you can set up gmail to have a pop account (no idea what apple mail is, sorry). Tucows is usually good for this shizzle
