yeah, who can make what days? I hopefully can make either or both days, but work is trying to get me in on the sat I'm standing firm though
NO I TELL THEE!
wraeth
Saturday's looking the most hopeful Missk, but I reckon I'll travel across on the Friday night and just see what happens, maybe go back Sunday evening, maybe Monday morning.
You're down as a definite though
misskitty
Who is going to Unity on the Friday night?
strung out
prob won't be making the saturday as it is me fair old ma's birthday and have to work at 9 in the evening til 8 on sunday morning. Will try and have a brief kip in order to be there early on sunday afternoon though.
wraeth
So how can misskitty make it Saturday then? I'm well confuzzled. I'm still going for the Sat option and maybe Sunday as well if enough peeps are going and I'm still around ...
strung out
maybe she can't make it :?
fizzerbird
Awwwr no strung out...still hopefully catch you on the Sunday.
I'll more than likely be very subdude on both days anyway, due to having a 'street fighter' stylee fight with my mate at 4ish this morning...using poi as weapons...this being on staff night away in depths of Devon and drinking copious amounts of vodka. My arms ache to buggery!
Have manic week ahead so I'm hoping to catch up on some zzzzzzzz's nxt weekend.
misskitty
The jury's out for me for sat... really wanna make it, but as SO says its me ma's bday and our sis is coming down too, don't want to seem uncaring to our ma! If I do come, it'll be later on in the day, and I'll have to think how I'm getting home...
...Anyroad, sunday is a definate. And sat is still a possiblity. Strung Out just can't come cos he is working in the nightime
hiccup
Still really want to come, but might be moving into new flat that weekend. Should find out tomorrow...
I haven't bought a ticket, do I need to do that in advance?
strung out
the answer to that one would be no, although sometimes it saves a bit of time and money if you do. I most likely will not be

gate price: £9 per day - will not sell out
advertised advance price: £7 per day plus booking fee per day
actual advance price: £8.50 per day
bus costs £2 each way.
Isambard
WHAT?
The ACTUAL advance price is £8.50 and not seven quid cos of some "booking fee"?
thora
Are people going both days or just one? Also, would anybody what lives it Bristol like to let me sleep on their sofa on the Saturday night? I'm very well behaved and that...
misskitty
Damn, I got in for a fiver last year!
Isambard
Aye MissKitty, a massive price rise and new restrictions on bringing your own drinkies in
your mum
I have no money till the 24th
But I may well make it over on saturday anyway
Not sure about sunday. Bit tricky to get over there and back between 10am and 4pm with the little one.

we got a spare bedroom, so if misskitty goes on the saturday evening your welcome to meet up with her and kip over for the night. Then you me and misskitty can all go together on the sunday. KRS and JTG have probably got a full flat I'm guessing. Not sure about other people. Anyway, you're welcome here.
I'll try and find out what the deal is...

Train tickets to Bristol are a leeetle bit pricey! Er... anyone driving from London?
strung out
William is catching a coach on friday evening... Derian is doing whatever she said ^^^up there, can't remember
It might be worth checking the urban thread to see if you know anyone who's coming up...
hiccup might possibly be coming as well, but i'm not sure how he's getting here. You not got a young persons railcard i assume? give me an address in london i could post mine to you and you could try blagging it, they never check the cards anyway
Isambard
Thora, I was gonna warn you to book well in advance innit but iI forgot.
Play around with the times on thetrainline.co.uk, there might be a bargains around. Trains around 1200-1400 on Friday often have fares for about £20 return.
strung out
if you want to come up on the friday, there's a decent night at Lakota just round the corner from JTG and KRS that we could go to. I'm sure we could chip in a bit if you don't fancy paying to get in. I get paid friday ya see
Isambard
Aye the Lakota night sounds ace and i'd planned to go but I'm worried about dribbling in the corner all night and not getting up Saturday morning.
Plus I might be meeting this bloke I know off the tintin net in another bar iywim.
thora
Looks like I can take the megabus for 14 squid return, which is not too bad. If I come up on the Friday I get to Colston Hall at about 7pm. Does that sound ok?
strung out
that sounds great thora... i can come meet you if you like. You want to stay friday night as well? It's our mothers birthday on saturday but I'm sure we can ship you over to KRS and JTG's so you can hop over to Ashton Court with them saturday afternoon
Isambard

Heh Heh, just round the corner from the infamous drag-queen-grabs-my-arse-on-a-pac-man-night-out pub! :-o

:-o indeed! Which pub is that then? (just so I can avoid it like...)
bristle-krs
as regards space here at chez jtgkrs, not sure whether the other half has invited people to stay, as far as i know we only have spacey and callie, so there may well be crash space
| Isambard wrote: | WHAT?

yup
Isambard
Fuck 'em, I'd rather pay 50p extra on the day then than get conned like that just to help their bloody capital flow.
Goods news that Spacey is gonna be there.
Thora, it's a nice pub really, it called The Griffin.
There's allegedly <cough> a "play area" upstairs but seeing as you live in Berlizzle it'll be less kinky than the local pub on the corner of your street innit.

sweet, i'll come meet you and we can plan something to do. If it turns out that there is kipping space at chez jtgkrs then it might be better to stay there as it is more central and you wouldn't have to worry about meeting up with the kittymonster on saturday. If no space there, then there will be a bed for you at chez strung out/kitty.

Heh, Thora, if you end up meeting my dad this weekend, he thinks you are Mary Poppins

Anyone want to meet for brekkie around 11 before the court? Somewhere central mind, near the bus stop to the festie...
The folks over the road might make it there too.

I saw him last night - and we're meeting up with him and the others at the Bell this evening so I'll ask then (if not before) and ring or text you or summat.
The B&B I booked before Krs offered me floorspace is over a cafe on St Michael's Hill, about 10 minutes walk from the centre. Apparently that's got a good rep - but as I've never been to Brizzle before I dunno.
strung out
The pub we're meeting in tonight...
| Quote: | | A classic central Bristol wood-floored hostelrie, The Bell boasts a supremely eclectic clientele, situated as it is in that most vibrant, contemporary, cosmopolitan community known as Stokes Croft. The recent refurbishment has been subtly amazing – a range of local art now adorns the walls, and the toilet graffiti art has to be seen to be believed! |
bristle-krs
my recommendation for cafés would be sufi's on stokes croft, or café central on nelson street/quay street between broadmead and the centre

We'll have another blurry hill to get into AC. Bugger that

Going to have to go to Victoria soon to catch the megabus. I'm already too hot and sticky, not looking forward to three hours on a bus (there better be air conditioning!). I think I might be a bit hot and bothered by the time I get to Bristol later
