i keep my pc like i keep my desk i have to go through tons of "new folders" and resort stuff first. i randomly save stuff all the time without checking so i find pictures hidden in music folders and odd bits of text saved amongst my photos. it takes forever sorting stuff out and then while im getting into it i get all obsessive and make loads of new subcategories which wear me out after a couple of hours or so. this is another reason i hate tidying up. i cant just pick up the stuff thats lying about and make the place look nice. i have to start emptying drawers and shelves and reordering everything and before you know it im surrounded by piles and piles of stuff, depressed, demotivated, and with the munchies

sounds eerily familiar - many a time a flatmate has come home unexpectedly early from a weekend away to discover me marooned in the middle of the living room, surrounded by teetering piles of furniture, books, boxes, electrical equipment, large sticks and miscellaneous lumps of metal, a startled meerkat expression on my face, and wearing only me pants (tidying is a dirty business)
