the thing that pisses me off is that chelsea were always just behind newcaslte, lots of money and foriegn players who wanted to come and live in london, but never quite there
now they have untold money and still no soul

when i was a kid we were fighting the drop into division2, and we were crap, people moan about us now being a mid table club, and people moaned about us then being a division 1 side, but it's a lot easier to support a club when they are decent...

I remember spending the weekend in Newcastle, on a BH (about 5 years ago). It was the derby. In the town centre we were 2 mins late for kick-off and made it to a bar - the town centre was fucking empty.
The bar - we stuck out like a sore thumb. 300 Geordies and we were the only ones not wearing black and white.
Still, it was 1-1 after Phillips gave Newcastle the lead and I hummed along to "Cheer up Peter Reid" even though I love him.
The night out was great, and I pulled (twice in the same night - that required some shifting out of one bed to another) but I did notice that Newcastle women go out at a ahem more mature age, and they are generally quite ugly. Actually, so are the men. Do the good looking ones move away?

I dunno where that is. I went out on the Quayside, inc Bar med? A big boat thing that was a club and Sea bar (where I met Ant and Dec again having played football against them in London 4 days earlier!)
Also some others but I can't remember.

the bars on the quayside go all the way up the hill into the bigg market, tradition is to start off in the centre and get more and more pissed as you go down the hill....

I had to put my thousandth post on this thread. Every day, a little bit more emerges of how loathsome chelsea are these days.
They are owned by a man whose wealth is built on the suffering and misery of the russian people. Their endless-chequebook policy is kiklling the game, it's competitiveness, its' finances, everything. And Ol' Kenny-boy bates was absolutely right when he said "the way you are behaving people will think you are a bunch of schmucks from siberia. nothing lasts forever so I eagerly await their fall because when it happens it will be HUGE.
I though I hated Masn Utd, but in retrospect I didn't; i just despised their preciousness, brattishness and the way they were so up themselves (and, actually, the undue reverence they were universally accorded, which in retrospect I can't fairly blame united themselves for). chelsea I really fucking loathe now.
THEY ARE EVIL. SATAN IS A A SIBERIAN!!!

i always hated man utd, but one of the reasons was that they were not that far ahead of anyone, chelsea i even hated when they were shit, the fact that they got an evil billionaire to turn them into real madrid just makes it worse.
i take comfort in what happened to madrid and what will happen to chelsea....
(and newcastle still won't have any silverware when this dynasty falls)

absolutely spot-on, tho i do hope the Toon win something at some point. Like the hammers, they're a club with some soul left, even with the halls and sheppards of this world in charge
