Die Hard 4sucked
it wasn't really die hard, john mcclaine is meant to be a normal guy, but in this one he destroyed a helicopter, a jet and about 5 buildings, it was ok, but it didn't have the sense of humour, coastloop liked liked it but, she fancies bruce willis

are you being sarcastic? it was no way as funny as 2 which was no way as funny as 1. there were few jokes and they were mostly recycled from other mike myers movies. there were some bizarre choices made ("live and let die" as funeral music???). and a massive wasted idea/opportunity wrt to the wimmins. actually in terms of gender relations it was a proper shite movie. frog as king? no probs. ogre as king? yeh why not. bullied high school student as king? i'll say. male of any species in fact will do the job fine, even children can do it. but not even as a joke did anyone suggest one of the women could be the reigning monarch.
arthur was such a pointless character and it seemed to me the only point to his existence was to make a reason for shrek to leave far far away. once he'd gone, leaving the women in charge only temporarily, prince charming mounts his invasion and locks up all the princesses, and the female dragon who of course is useless without donkey. the women do escape twice, demonstrating their abilities to make plans and kick ass, but twice they get recaptured easily.
if they'd gone with the idea of having the women being the rescuers it wouldve been really cool. why didnt they do that?
then there was that whole shrek daddy subplot which is just part of the whole fathers are good mmkay thing that advertisers and movie people are trying to cash in on these days. and i hate movies where women get pregnant and then you see them with the kids, as if nothing happened at all during the months in between fertilisation and toddlers toddling. anyway my point with this crappy subplot is that if you're gonna go on and on about how shrek doesnt want to be king but does kinda want to be daddy then why not end it with him being stay at home and let fiona be the breadwinner? oh yeh i forgot we dont even consider women.

i enjoyed it more, maybe it's cos i was drunk
i liked all the references, and shizzle. Women aren't kings they are queens, and kings always get chosen ahead of queens. You can't criticis the movie Shrek for the olden days.....
Arthur was pretty rubbish, but like you said, it was just an excuse to have Shrek and his mates go on an adventure and then have some high school jokes

anyway shrek isnt based in olden days exactly, and even so, we have a queen, theres been queens for centuries not just kings. there was no good reason why julie andrews couldnt have been in charge of far far away, except then theyd have had to think of a different route for the plot and that would have taken five more minutes than they were willing to spend.
