fantastic four - rise of the silver surfereveryone involved in the making of this movie should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves.

i never thought the ff were very good anyway. they are a bit dull!
refused - the first one was abysmal. like ninj i thought the trailer for this one looked like it might be an improvement. it wasnt. in some ways it was even worse.
what was most annoying wasnt even the bad acting, the dull characters, or the gigantic plot holes. it was all the tiny things that made no sense whatsoever and were clearly just about laziness and lack of caring. like, one annoying example was that on one bit, johnny falls out of the sky and crashes onto the pavement below. su sees him falling, fast, from her window in the top floor apartment. he hits the floor, stands up, and as he is standing she comes running out of the building. like it took her less than five seconds to get to and into the elevator, go down forty or whatever floors, and out of the building. this movie was totally packed with those sort of moments. i mean its a superhero movie so you can overlook the really shitty science and improbable situations to some extent, but that sort of stuff is just fucking lazy and patronising, imo.
other stuff that annoyed me included stuff like Thing changing back to his human form. he did it two or three times in this movie. now obviously the fact that he is permanently made of rock or whatever is a huge thing for him, it impairs his relationships, people stare at him all the time, etc. it torments him at the same time as it defines him. so when they play these back into human form moments as comedy bits, where he uses his thirty seconds in human form to act like a practical joking muppet (even more unlikely when you get to know his character at all), its just really disrespectful and annoying.
plus it was even more annoyingly sexist than the first movie or any other superhero movies i can think of. not even in a yay porn way, just in a basic traditional all women want is marriage sort of way. its so dire and out of date, and as the movie is clearly aimed at small children, i think it's sinister.
