doesn't need to be fancy, if it's only for one person speaking. you can even use old headphones, plugged into the mic socket
just make sure that the levels are in the middle when you're recording (neither too quiet nor too loud), and then make any changes volume/tone/etc necessary in audacity (or whatver) afterwards.

should be fine, that's all i use - i just clean up the speech bits as best i can in audacity
