cats make a beeline for me, prolly cos I ignore them. I don't ignore em cos I dislike em - they just give me mild allergy. They do it on purpose 
They are not my master. They come and twizzle round my legs and creep up on me and purr and lick me too :-o If I ever sleep round a friend's they're fekkin there curled up next to me when I wake up giving me teh rash and teh sniffles. I studiously ignore them an they love it. I pwn cats 
Dogs I love to bits. Awr they're so open and friendly even when they're ferocious, I love big bad dogs specially dogs with bad rep, not that keen on the tiny yappers.
Not having a pet though - oh no. Nononononono
