Old Star Wars with Airfix vs New Star Wars with CGIAm I the only one who thinks that the space battles made in the 70s with Airfix Xwings and stuff look about 100 times better than the new ones with CGI
or that the old deathstar explosion which was really crap is still 'the real thing' as opposed to that crap one with the ring coming out of it
I think the models add a charm and joi de vivre which is lackong from the new ones, and I still prefer the original one to the newly rendered one, cos stuff like how you can see the wheels on luke's 'hovercar' make it better rather than worse

i like the old stuff because thats what made it star wars for me and the special effects were a revolution at the time. Now every film uses cgi and for some films they work (to an extent), but for others there's no need.
Just them trying to save money i suppose.
