mai otome is set on some distant colony planet where one of the few technologies they still have is a nano machine that alows a body to have super human powers... unfurtunatly this nano machine is destroyed by "male proteins" so only female virgins can use the technology
hence the name (otome can mean virgin)
the hero is a girl who wants to ba one of them girls as her mother was one .... till the who male protein business
