The city centre was going that way anyway Ninj but surely places like City Road in Byker are still pubs?

Lewisham used to be awash with small street-corner/back street type pubs, now almost all gone. Same with Deptford
Even the once-mighty Goldsmiths Tavern has been "DJ-ed", and they play the music full fucking blast even though it's more than apparent that people are just trying to have a conversation.

The one little boozer left (might drop in there for a quaff or three later) that has survived omn my street makes a lot of its business selling coffee and snacks and shizzle.
Literally, the old fellahs that used to be in the pub all day have died or been bean-jayed out of the area.

I hate the whole stand-up-and-shout-to-your-mates-over-shitty-music-bars that have taken over town centres in the UK.
I used to love going down the local and having random conversations with the old boys at 1 in the afternoon.
