teh internet in teh futurei was thinking the other day while reading summat about second life, i only played it once, but it's another one of these runaway succeses like youtube etc it seems. but i can't see how some stuff would transfer onto it. maybe we should set up a second life bar or summat
but anyways what i was thinking, was that a lot of people are going to get onto the internet all the time when these 3rd gen consoles are in everyones household. once they are mass market, then there's going to be a whole new way to access the internet. and lets face it, it would be cooler if there was a nicer way to communicate than through text, but on the other hand reading and writing is completely different to speaking. and bulleting boards are totally different to conversations on messenger. will there be a way to combine them?
sometimes this place works better as a chatroom, i like the live potential of the internet as well. we could have games championships or film clubs
am just rambling stoned shite now

if everyone was communicating in a room using audio and video it would be chaos.
with text you can take your time reading and writing, plus it's obviously easier to send pics/links.
there is still lots of potential if you try and combine the two: like you said, games championships or film clubs.

it would be cool if we could wander around a little world tho, and go into different bits of the site through some cool interface

the map idea is cool as
but i prefer message boards to chat rooms and i hate second life type stuff i can't keep up because my coordination is fucked and i just get confused, which is why i don't play computer games either
