The Prestige

The Prestige

finally got around to watching this, thought it was excellent.

great story, fine acting, and thrilling as feck. (plus you got david bowie playing nikola tesla - that's l33t right there).

showed this to an ESL class on Friday 'cause there are brits, yanks and cockneys in it, illustrating the richness of English - their eyes were big as saucers at the end.

who else has seen it? any thoughts?

i saw it on the plane over here, i liked it, i thought it was really really silly, and i missed the beginning and didn't really understand the drowning bit at all, but it was enjoyable, i'd have to watch it sober really cos it was like 'the game' or something where you have to concentrate....

thought it had potential, but didn't really like it, sorry

no need to apologise bristle, unless for being wrong.

mind you, i didn't think it was great great, but one of the better films i've seen in a while, and certainly not dull. i liked the metaphors and parallels with the tesla/edison rivalry.

ninja, having missed the beginning would of course make the rest seem very silly, or at least confusing, and yes, you'ld have to see it sober (or simply not totally trashed).
