i dunno :?
it's just a band that runs along the bottom of the screen (or down the sides, or at the top) where you can click on applications to launch them or switch between them more easily. you can add or remove applications, so it's only really the ones you use the most, but i tend to keep more there than i actually use, in the forlorn hope it encourages me to use stuff that might be quite useful

Abiword is a sustitute for Word, cos I didn't get it with my pootle so Abiword is free.
Peerweb it a bit like a torrent I guess, but it was for while I was at uni and on the uni network. Could download anyfink off anyone at uni
