What should I cook tonight?Just been given some vouchers for john lewis/waitrose. I think I'm gonna spend them on a lovely meal - but what to cook?

Hmmm
Either:
Buy some of their flashy sausages, lush ready made gravy & make a big pile of creamy mash - and a couple of bottles of a heavyweight red. If there's any vouchers left over their ready made bread and butter pudding with cream and ice cream.
Or:
Buy some of their fresh pasta and make a luscious sauce to go with it. Wine. Profiteroles or eclairs. Choccie.
Or:
2 juicy fillet steaks, peppercorn sauce and baked potatoes/fat chips and salad
Or:
Their ready made curries/Indian - with loads of bhaji, samosas and then some posh icecream
etc
etc

I'm going with the sausage and creamy mash. Pork and apple and pork and leek with onion gravy.

If I had vouchers for Waitrose and John Lewis I'd bear a new sensible pair of slacks for the office and then go and get some sausages from the low end supermarket.
Sausage and mash is the new black.
