who was the best formula one driver of the 1980s????i dont know if the 80s compares to the 60s with the likes of james hunt , but for me there was a time when senna and his rivalry with prost, which later turned into friendship, or senna duealling mansell
or senna knacking masell of the track at the start of the season in the rio grand prix every year without fail, was heroics
it all died with schumacher imo, he was better than everyone else, but he took the fun out of it, he just blazed around and around and ruined the racing part of racing
i even saw him play a charity game with ronaldo and figo and people in san siro and he was pretty good at football, just a modified version of shearer, a complete cunt

Anyway I used to look after one of the drivers in the list. And I know that he thought that Senna was the best so you may as well take him and his moustache off the list.
Although technically I think he has been the only driver ever to hold both the F1 and Indycar titles at the same time. So on paper he could technically be seen to be the best. But he looked up to Senna as did a load of the other drivers I've met.
If I remember correctly they all generally thought Prost was a wanker as well.

Senna was sublime, shame i never got to even see him on tv. Was Alan Jones 80's or not, if he is then he is a very close second. James Hunt for all time fav, just like an f1 driver should be.
