got back home about ten, had a cuppa and then got down to the business of sorting through all the crap that accumulates in your absence...

several hundred emails, mostly spam

then i have a backlog of 70-odd podcasts to wade through (that's after deleting, unheard, dozens of daily digest ones), myspace requests, mailing list stuff... i thought computers were meant to make life easier

ps i left four *nearly completed* tcre shows on my pooter when i left for xmas, didn't quite get them done in time

i shall do my best to polish them off in the very near future, and i shall also update and spruce up the main tcre page in due course.

I worked all the way through Christmas, so managed to pretty much clear my desk and do lots of stuff I hadn't gotten around to doing and empty my inbox so I'm feeling pretty smug really....well, smug apart from the fact that last year I forgot to order 500,000 of something I should've done, and now lots of people are shouting at me. The other 50% is the factory not having any other orders they can produce. Not really my fault or my problem. Plus, I never promised them a date for the stuff I ordered late, so why they thought they'd have it now I don't know. Tis all fun and games.

council tax is rubbish

i asked for a payment card so i could pay it whilst i wass away.

it didn't come by the time they said it would.

i phoned up.

they told me "not to worry, it's not that late."

i asked whether they could tell me if it had even been sent out.

they said no, because it's handled "by a different company."

a week later, it still hadn't come, and i left bristol for xmas, having persuaded a chum to use their plastic to pay it if i paid them the cash.

cue several calls to the '24 hour automated payment line', ten minutes a time through the phone menu only to get told "payment declined"

and on the 1st of january - council tax payment day - the entire council website and phone system seemed to be down!!!

i bet i still get a court date for that <£10 being late

Takes forever to get it to work and even then it goes wrong :-/
