gino vanelli was in fact born salvatore ginelli in brescia. his father was an alcoholic. he claimed to be a chef, but although he had been a chef back in the day, he was no more than a violent old pisshead by the time gino was born. his poor mother gianna growing up in naples and moving north to find a job, met the charming gino and was seduced by his reasonably priced pizzas. the first few years were magical

but then it all turned sour, their second child meant that they had to cut back in a big way, gino had to stop going to the calcio on sunday, gianna had to babysit other peoples kids, but gino never gave up, in italy his pizzas were laughed at, he made them with a view to being frozen and reheated by drunk people. italians wanted the freshest tomatoes and the freshest mozzarella.

one day, sitting in their shabby apartment in the suburbs of roma, gino had an idea. ;we're going to england, they like the reheated food over there lo sai?

so the whole family moved to hull and gino set up his pizza shop, at first the locals preffered the indian food and fish and chips, but as time went by gino and his bland yet filling pizzas gained a market. then one day a man came around and bought gino's secret recipe for pizza which he had developed over the years. he was worried about how his pizzas would be thought of in distant cities like sunderland and portsmouth, but he took a chance, and one day his mamma came to him as a ghost and told him "dont you worry gino, you done your mama proud"

today gino owns a massive house in brescia and his pizzas are sold around the world

it's wierd, cos even the frozen pizza in italy was a lot nicer. i don't understand that

i do remember take away pizzas where 9 times out of 10 rank, like all take away food, just meat and grease

i agree tho, curry is the bestest
