Right, since we seem to be shifting over to using the blog more and more as a hub for the radio stuff, it's worth letting people know what this might mean...

Basically, there are going to be two levels of subscription to TCRE podcasts.

Level one: << This is the old one. If you have this working, you don't really need to read this!

This is exactly the same as it has been since the beginning - subscribing to the PodOmatic page, which is http://coolestradio.podomatic.com/ , using the following RSS link:

http://coolestradio.podomatic.com/rss2.xml

(or by using the 'Subscribe with iTunes' button).

This will get you - in theory - the latest TCRE shows. The 'in theory' bit is because it depends on the oldest shows being taken off the PodOmatic page so there is space for the latest shows, etc; and when lots of shows come out at the same time, sometimes this doesn't happen as quickly as it should. Apologies, but that's human error for ya :-D

However, nothing is stopping you from subscribing direct to the shows you really don't want to miss.

To subscribe, scroll down to the heading marked 'RSS FEEDS' and click 'Posts'. Or simply click the link below:

You will need to manually configure your browser to choose whatever software you use as your podcatcher. For me my browser in Firefox, and my podcatcher & media player is iTunes.

So where it says "Subscribe to this feed using", I select iTunes, and click the "Subscribe Now" button - see pic if this makes no sense to you.

Ideally we would have some nice simple buttons like "Subscribe with iTunes", but at the moment we don't, so quit complaining :P

Now, subscribing this second way should, in fact, provide you with more content, because we don't have to manually upload files to the blog for the RSS feed to detect media files for your podcatcher to download. This means all we have to do is paste in a direct link to an mp3 file hosted elsewhere, and the RSS feed does the rest.

If that doesn't make any sense to you, don't worry, it doesn't matter.

What does matter is that if you subscribe using the second method (through the WordPress blog rather than the PodOmatic podcast page), you will get more music delivered to your podcast - and not all of it will be TCRE-created stuff.

TCRE Select - Only the latest and very best homegrown TCRE shows!

TCRE Plus+ - All of TCRE's output, plus other people's stuff we think you might like!

right, i think i've sorted out a nice easy 'subscribe with itunes' button at the top of the blog. let me know if there's any problems with it
