i think people refuse to accept how manipulated we are, we make these justifications like 'oh well i can eat what i want' but you can't, and you don't. they open up massive supermarkets which sell everything cheaper than the small shops and close them down, then you have to buy whatever they tell you, they do a 3 for 2 and everyone buys it

they bring out a new drink and everyone starts drinking it, they make wine cheap and everyone drinks wine

this isn't some snobby perspective, it's exactly the same for rich people, or people who think they're rich or whatever, look at the saps on urban, they made coke cheap a few years ago and now they are all addicted to coke

manipulating people, and advertising stuff to addict people is one of the fastest moving and best funded sciences around, teaching people to think for themselves isn't

anyone who has ever tried to give up an addiction knows how difficult it is to think for yourself, the idea that you can think for yourself was coopted by the advertisers in the 1970s, they don't even need to do that now they just give you whatever they tell you they want and however much of it they think you are worth and you go "YAY!!!" when they do it

who do you envy? who do you want to be? all that shit came from TV, all of my childhood was dreamed up by some scientist working out something that he could sell back to me in 20 years time when i had a bit of disposable income

noone was ever free, noone ever will be, when people are freed we usually shit ourselves and ask for some overlord to come and take control of us so we can moan about them

fuck freedom, just give me my lass, nice clothes, internet smilies and the ability to make music
