http://coolestradio.com/forum
What's new?
Automatic Podcasting - A forum that sends stuff straight to your podcatcher
Embedded Mp3s - Mp3s that play inside individual posts
Embedded youtube vids - As above but with youtube links
A forum entirely dedicated to polls with proper logging of votes and that
Proper search function and all the stuff you'd expect from vbulletin
No Adverts!
Yes- We've got less forums for now - so it feels a bit busier - We will add forums if the demand is there for particular topics. We want to avoid having 30 empty forums and one busy one.
We need your ideas for threads, competitions, photos, music making, story writing, moderating and everything. With you, it is nothing. The site has been tested for a week or so and seems stable. We are running a legit version of vbulletin with all the licenses we need so it looks good.
Please spread teh word!

Gary Neville looks like he's wearing a little bit of mascara tonight on the telly. Where has he got the idea for that beard from?
Is Andy Townsend ever not enthusiastic? |

Posted: Tue Apr 15, 2008 10:03 pmI just threatened the BBC with legal action lol... |
|
They removed a post from the 'making music/unsigned bands forum' where I asked if any bands liked the look of my podcast and would like to submit work to me for playing on it. They said it contravined the rules because I stood to gain/profit from the posting. I sent a really angry reply.
| Quote: | So you 'keep it peel' do you? - that obviously doesn't include trying to give people the chance to promote music or anything like that less it damages the hegemony of your inane white boy indie drivel output run by fools and media lackey's like Colin 'I'll present anything' Murray. I expect a reply by the way. You are a public service after all.
I want a full and frank explanation of why you removed my post, a completely free, not for profit nor gain site which has EVERYTHING to do with the forum in which it was posted. (which I accessed through the BBC unsigned podcast site - a show that is strangely similar, yet mine is run totally for pleasure and passion, not by paid representatives of the BBC) If I don't recieve this reply or a reinstatement of my post, I may take legal action against the corporation for acting as a monopoly and misusing it's powers to stifle the competition. Don't try to fob me off with a 'read the FAQ' thanks. I am a license payer and as such deserve more respect than a brush off.
It's a sick joke when your station declares itself for unsigned music but then bans people from promoting it |

|
I'd like to do a show where people talk for one minute on anything they want and I just mix it in with some ambient shizzle. I think that would be cool.
I reckon I need four voices for it to work.
http://densityofsound.com/wordpress/?page_id=6 - people can send in their one minutes (can do a few each if you want) through here.
How about it??? No pre-planning between us, just snippets of stuff.
K? |

Believe the hype - this is an awesome album - it is actually the sound of wilco, crossed with the beach boys, played through a filter of the best 3d glasses imaginable. It's flippin' brilliant in a 60's meets 70s meets psychedelic post irony get your fuckin' bulders outfit on kind of way. It's well hippy shite and brilliant. It's also got elements of the sort of sunburned hand of the man wierd americana stuff to it that makes it unpredictable. get it. |

Right, so our home is razed to the ground and we have to return to the shell of where we left. So lets get some chatter going on, and not just talk about whether or not aliens ate the vbulletin or if the colour scheme offended the presedent of Real Vallecano so he got it shut down.
Most important question to me is - I have a huge pot of jam cos I got some croisants (once in a blue moon) - What always happens is I don't buy them again for about 6 month and the jam goes mouldy. How can I use a huge pot of strawberry jam up fairly cheaply other than on toast/sandwhiches?.

The own brand spar wine is suprisingly drinkable. (The red is any way, dunno about the white, I'm not that way inclined)
That's all.

Posted: Mon Jul 16, 2007 3:31 pmWhat will shape the future physical geography of our world? |
|
Bit of a ramble here...
Was thinking today about how much Britain is still shaped by the industrial revolution, even though the industry has more or less gone. The location of most of our cities and towns and the shape of them is still very much dictated by the fact that certain locations were suitable for particular industries in the period from the mid 17th century and onward.
In 250 years time will these cities and towns still be there? - Will people have moved to new connurbations and why? Is there ever going to be an industry that needs so many people ever again, so are the days of mass movement to support manufacture well and truly over? Carmella had some grim vision of the future, of new towns built arround retail parks, home to thousands of retail drones and 'communications' workers.
Have new towns, by or large been a success or a faliure? - Will there be more or will we consolidate with what we have and where we are? Has the future got anything in store that will have anything like as much impact as the industrial revolution? On a global level, will there be a softening of national boundaries and identity as trade becomes increasingly global? |

For as long as I can remember being interested in such things, I have heard tell of a large underground complex beneath the streets of Manchester. Now it seems at last there is compelling evidence of such a thing and not a conspiricy theory in site!
